The 22 miles of US-89/26 between Hoback Junction and Alpine — the Snake River Canyon — is beautiful, narrow, and unforgiving: rock face on one side, river on the other, and a winter shade pattern that keeps ice on curves the sun never touches. We recover vehicles here all year, from both directions.
