Pull fully into a pullout, not the shoulder — bison jams and blind curves make shoulders dangerous · note the nearest named junction or landmark (park mile markers are sparse; “the Snake River Overlook lot” beats “somewhere on the main road”) · wildlife on scene? Stay in the vehicle and tell dispatch.
Rental car? Call your rental company's roadside line AND us — we're often the local truck they'd send anyway, and calling us directly usually shortens the wait.
